I had a goal in mind when creating Rustling Palm- make a series of products and patterns that called to mind the casual beauty of the beach in warm, versatile colors that would be appropriate all year. My inspiration came from the fruits, handcrafts and traditional patterns of the Caribbean, woven together by whispering, golden dried palms.
On the 24th of August, just days before the launch date of Rustling Palm, Hurricane Dorian decimated The Bahamas. As I watched the devastation unfold, I couldn't help but realize what a coincidence the timing was for the release of this collection. Suddenly the fruit reminded be of abundance for a people so desperately in need of provision, and the dried palms called to mind the promise in Isaiah 61:3
...to bestow on them a crown of beauty instead of ashes, the oil of joyinstead of mourning...
How could we not share this collection with the people of The Bahamas?
When you purchase any product from the Rustling Palm collection, a portion of the purchase price will be sent to help the islands through Samaritan's Purse.
With a proven track record of responsible, accountable international crisis response, Samaritan's Purse is on the ground right now in Marsh Harbour and Freeport, Grand Bahama, distributing much-need supplies and operating a fully-functioning field hospital.
I hope this collection brings beauty to your home and hope to The Bahamas; it was truly meant to be all along.
