Of course, I didn't notice; I was at the altar reciting my vows, but everyone tells me- and the pictures attest- that my precious niece and flower girl realized mid-ceremony that she had forgotten to toss the petals as she came down the aisle. She spent the rest of the service trying to slyly scatter petals across the floor without anyone noticing.
She's grown with a sweet baby of her own now, but because of her, I have a treasure from my wedding day all these years later- a little crystal dish filled with the petals she never tossed.
